Need core for my LT1 swap. Let me know what you have. Can be 2 or 4WD. 93-95 is what I need. Thanks.

Found one local.

Re: 4WD Truck 4L60E

what style case, they changed the case in 96 to a two piece case(removeable bellhousing) and had a 6 bolt output flange, or doesn't it matter?

i don't have either, just wanted everyone else to be well informed /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: 4WD Truck 4L60E

That was in 96? I thought later. I have a 94 PCM and harness, so that is what style I will be using. Do you know if the guts from the early design will work in later cases? The only reason I don't want to use the one I have is because it only has the sheetmetal TC cover and I want the stronger thick cover. I have to change the output shaft either way for TH350 version NP203.

Re: 4WD Truck 4L60E

looks like all the part numbers are the same except for some pistons and clutch packs. one major difference is the pump. in 96 is when they got the 13 vane pump. the pump body needs to stay with its case, there is a casting number on either the front or the back, the last 3 numbers need to be the same. the internals of the pump can be swaped though. another major change is the number/type of solenoids, 93-95 got 5 solenoids, 94-96 got 6, and 96 got 6 but one is in a different location(doing something else)

there are a few little changes in the valve body also. (solenoid bore sizes) in 96 they changed quite a few things

onething if you go with a newer style case you will need a th400 adapter(i think they are the same size /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif) a th350 adapter will both up to the older cases.

Re: 4WD Truck 4L60E

TJ, thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I also know in the Caprice/Impala cars (my LT1 is out of a Caprice), the 95's got an extra wire for PWM lockup in the trasnmission. Also, I think the plug for the 4L60E must change around 96 or so for the case change.

Thanks again. I think I will contact my builder and see what he thinks.
