Need some advice and some part numbers. I got a new truck avenger carb to replace my old factory Q-jet, and now that I have them both sitting on the work bench I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to make this work. First off can I even mount this to my stock manifold? I’m sure I need an adapter but no luck finding one through the local parts store. Would I be better off just getting a new Manifold? Also what about the trans kickdown cable, do I need an adapter bracket for that or will it work on the linkage it came with?

i've seen spreadbore to squarebore adapters at autozone and many other normal places, like advance and oreilly. much cheaper than a new manifold

kickdow cable shouldn't be much of a problem. might have to adjust it for length a little or make a custom bracket. no big deal.

i've been curious about the truck avenger for a long time. do you have the 670cfm version? that's a step down from the q-jet as far as max breathing, but your 350 probably never used all 750 or 800 or whatever cfms of air the q-jet could deliver. maybe you'll improve throttle response, this way.

Here's my thread on the Truck Avenger http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174116

I made my own bracket with aluminum and our CNC router. I'm also lucky enough to have a TH400, so no kickdown linkage.

Vortec covered everything else. If you can wait on shipping, you could get the adapter cheaper from Summit.
