did the search a few different way's and didn't find what i was looking for. has anyone mounted a rear truck bumper on a suburban? reason is, i have a couple m1008 bumpers with the pintle and shackles just laying around. i'm sure i need to cut a little, but will it work? anyone done it and have pictures? thanks

Note that 73-80 bumpers differ from the 81-91 (i.e. your CUCV ones), so you'll have more work to fit the CUCV bumper onto an old Burb.

OTOH, LMC lists the same part numbers for like-year Blazers, Suburbans, and pickups, so I'm gonna say they're interchangeable within the year limits.

Which is odd 'cuz I'd swear the M1009's have a different rear bumper than the rest of the CUCV's ... but maybe they both fit and are just different types.

The m1008's use a step bumper, don't they? The m1009's are the styled type to match the front (like other blazers/burbs). I guess the big question is if the brackets will bolt on.

P/u frames are straight at the back, burb frames shoot down the last foot or so. So i imagine if you can fab up some brackets, it should be fine.

yeah it's a step bumper, not like the stock burb one.... i have two now, and a 3rd when i get my axles so i guess i can screw up a couple times. mainly want the step bumper so i can get to stuff easier on the roof
