anyone swap a truck cab onto a blazer chassis? i was considering doing this and building a flat bed for the rear... anyone done this?? i would like to see some pics if possible... i guess i stared too long at the blazer today and started thinking...

Search for a Trazer around here, lots of threads :D

I did see one in town.. either that or it was a chopped K-10 with a flat bed, but it sure did look good other the narrow rear axle.

search " Trazor "
or something of the sort, truck cab blazer frame, it's been talked about alot

Tom

anyone have a photo or two of a clean flat bed trazer? i looked for over an hour on the search results. i'm looking for one that is only slightly higher than the frame, only ones i saw were much higher than the frame and a few were hack jobs. no offense to them (you work with what you have), but someone has had to have done a trazer and a clean looking flat bed.... i bought two m1008's today, complete, so i have the parts to do it, but i'de like to see what one would look like.

I Saw one the other day running around town here.
it had a chopped down short box on it. it looked really trick, i had to get a closer look to see what it really was.

One thing to remember is that the Blazers center section is dropped to accomodate a footwell for the rear seat passengers. This causes the bed section to appear to be much higher than the frame than it actually is. You can hug the frame at the back, but as you get close to the cab the frame drops down, and may cause you to see more of a gap.

that explains it, thanks.

I would also like to see some pics of a Trazer with a clean flatbed. I`m going to be working with chiefheaphy to make one for mine with 2x2x3/16th square tube, and diamond plate.

You also have to keep in mind that most guys building trazers are running largish tires. Most are relatively low lift for the tire size as well, I'm running 42's with barely 4" of lift. That means the flatbed deck has to be WAY up above the frame, just to keep the tires out of the flatbed. If you look at my truck, the flatbed is flying in the clouds, but my tires get within 2" of the bottom of the flatbed during articulation.

Well I'm one of the trazer owners around here, you will definitly need to build something for the rear cab mounts (If you have any questions about that part PM me for pics) as for the bed. I have not built mine yet, but I have made a main structure that is about the width of the frame.

The sides will be raised to clear the tires. It will be similar to what all-pro offroad makes for toyotas. http://www.allprooffroad.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=28

Hmm. Thats exactly what I had in mind, except using square tube.
