Most of the "trazer's" around here are swapping '73-'87 truck cabs on '73-'87 blazer frames...
Although what he's talking about doing I know has been covered because I remember reading about it... just search and I'm sure you'll run across the old threads.
Only thing that might be hard (assuming you can weld on new body mounts cause none of them are going to line up) is the extra length you may have to cut the floor to clear the frame. Several guys who have done crew cabs on LWB trucks have cut the floor to clear the frame. The extended cab might not need it done
The only place ive seen that idea is on pirates chevy section, some one did a late 90s crew cab and shortened the bed up to the wheel well. I looks pretty good, they made brackets and mounts out of 2x2 and 2x3 tubing. They gutted the cab and put a full cage in and put some of th interior back in.
the front end body mounts will be very tall. these frames have alot more drop than do the older ones from the front fram horns to the mid section. so when putting on the body the cab will be fine but front core support might look odd depending on what you do with bumpers etc.
i have seen it done very well to the point that i had to look close to notice. take you time
yeah the OP didn't really specify full size or not.
Even on the s-10 the wheelbase of the k5 was too short.
IMO if you are set on a cab swap and wanting to retain factory style suspension use a suburban frame, I "think" they are pretty flat and a bit longer. Its always easier to shorten a frame than extend it. Or just tube out the back half and link it
