truck doesnt start.... sometimes

my 87 tbis been giving me crap all week it starts sometimes and othertimes it just keeps cranking , even if i give it gas. i checked the timing that seems to be ok . im getting spark . weve run codes and nothing comes up. itll be running i can turn it off and it wont start . please help

If you're getting spark, your problem is most definitely fuel-related.

Chances are your electric fuel pump in your fuel tank is shot, or your fuel filter is plugged solid. I recommend pouring a 1/2 cup of gas into the throttle body and trying to start the truck again. If it catches, and then dies, you probably need a fuel pump.

I had this problem before and it was my ignition module in the distributor. I changed it and my pickup coil out and it started just fine.

I didn't catch where you said it had spark. Check your fuel pump relay too.

yea one of the guys i work with mentioned that, did your check engine light appear and reapear randomly when you were having the problem?

No, it never came on that I remember. If you are getting spark, chances are it's either your pump like Canmore said, or your fuel pump relay. Also check your coolant temp. sensor. It's right next to the thermostat housing on top of your engine.
