Truck Gate Install - Check!

Just got the truck tailgate back from the paint guy (my neighbor). He did an awesome job spraying the gate and the aluminum insert. Wish the rest of the K5 looked as good...

Very nice ride. I wish I had the cash so that I could buy it for myself. I really like the truck tailgate and was wondering what year truck it came from. I want to get one with the aluminium insert for my 89K5.

I had him paint it solid red with some intentions on painting the entire K5 the same. In the mean time I was thinking about using a body decals as the white. Kinda like a big pin stripe. Not a big priority right now though...

The gate was from a mid 80s truck, but I am not sure if it was a factory gate on that model. I see quite a few gates with that insert.

I bet someone knows what year they used them.

How easy of a swap was it?

It is a piece of cake. Just make sure you rob all the mounting hardware from the donor vehicle. It's a straight bolt up. All the mounting hardware bolts to existing holes in the K5. The truck and K5s use the same bed rail ends.

I have always admired how clean your rig has stayed over the years while still being capable.. cant even remember how many I have had during the same period of you keeping your 1 nice..
