Truck Pull Videos

Thats pretty damn cool. How much are they pulling?

No idea. My buddy sent that me to, hes a Ford 6.9 non-turbo guy(hes hangs around here sometimes). He had to show me the Ford overrunning its way to a full pull. The theories over on Diesel Stop seem to lean towards he busted a ring, sucked up oil and BAM oil burner.

There is an awesome motorsports park in Lancaster called The Buck. I wish I could go this summer but being all the way out here I doubt I'll make it more than one or two times. Lots of pulling.

i have been whatching pulls a long time. and that track sucked big time. to wet and soft for good action. and slead was to heavy for the class of trucks. thay should have setup the classes better. but all good fun . the local stuff thay do hear is real good stuff. we had some good action last year.

I'm surprised no one noted the white Chevy Duramax. The driver side wheel on it points to the right so far you can see the rim! Got to love IFS.

I noticed the lifted one, the crazy toe, I figured it was because all the weight was taken off the front end, no big deal to me.

Are these pulls all with the same sled weight? I mean, how did the smoking Ford outpull those guys with huge turbos? Also, what about the one Super Duty that practically pulls the sled back to his house?

I was also noticing the cool sound most of the turbos make when the fuel is cut. Is this normal for WOT pulls or does it only happen to modified setups?

BTW, big video. Took me almost 10 minutes to download.

THats actually a VERY uncool sound. It may sound cool but its the turbo fighting itself. When they close the throttle, the turbo is still spinning, making boost, now its fighting itself. That sound is the turbo spinning backwards thanks to this boost buildup. UNCOOL. I REALLY have no idea why Turbo Diesel guys don't use Blowoff valves. My only thought is that it may have to be electronic due to a vaccum issue with powering. But how hard would wiring up a nitrous WOT switch be to stop that?

suprised they don't run em too.... them ****ers are loud as hell when they open up... my bro's buddy had a turboed rx-7 with 400 hp running 25 psi of boost and i couldn't hear for 10 min with the hood up and the blowoff valve workin.

Got to wonder if the turbo isn't being oversped a little, some of those are way overfueled for anything but pulling. I went to a pull in southwest PA last summer and was amazed at how many rpm's some of the cummins guys were turning, one guy claimed 4400rpm. He spit parts out of the IFS on the left side, payloader lifted and towed him from the track with the left wheel locked up.

Hearing that sound coming from the turbo is a weird feeling, I get the same sound from the cummins in my semi....especially if its really cold it does the backspit thing through the air filters (I have the big stainless steel canister type housings on mine) so I hear it a lot. Always felt that it wasn't good but Cummins says it won't hurt it, hope they are right because the thing costs about $800. plus labor to install.

Diesels have throttles?

When they close the throttle
Unless I have missed something major here, you mean "When they stop injecting fuel", right?

sweet video, some of those guys need some front lockers, btw, on the white lifted chevy, do you think he did that on purpose to get to less slick dirt for the back tires to dig into. He was slinging mud out, where everybody else was adding to the mess infront on the rear tires.......just a thought :D
