ok so an update on my truck now, is That, I replaced the starter with a brand new one. Not reman. Ran all new wires, that the starter uses. Sanded the mounting surface on the block.
My truck will start fine, Then I will drive a bit. shut it off. When I go to start it, It's just a real weak crank and wont crank over the truck.
I've tried several different batteries.
and same effect. Just weak cranking.

We just had a thread on this a week or two ago. Look up "heat soak" and "ford solenoid". There's also a chance that it is spark timing related and you are getting more advance when the engine is warm. You could try unplugging the ignition coil to see if it cranks any faster.

also..
was browsing this site..
http://www.madelectrical.com/catalog/st-1.shtml
and it says "(2) SLOW CRANKING, a gr-r-runt, gr-r-runt. This kit won't fix it! You'll need to work with ignition timing, battery cables, the starter, and the rest of the system.
"

I've got a brand new starter. Ran new wires for my cables.
and my timing is good..!

edit:: Also. my truck will fire right up, If I get a jump from another vehicle.

What is the battery voltage before you start cranking?

If it starts off another vehicle, but not the battery on-board, then you have a bad battery or bad connections to the battery. By any chance when you jump start are you putting the negative cable on the engine? There could be a poor connection from the B- to the block. Have you checked/cleaned that connection? Sometimes ground straps get disconnected by accident and cables routed to the wrong place. There should be a fat wire (like 2 gauge) from the battery to the engine block. Check/clean all of the ground connections.

Yes, most any 4-terminal starter solenoid will work for the remote solenoid upgrade. The mod is basically to take the pink wire off the starter solenoid and route it to the remote solenoid instead. Then run heavy wire (8 gauge at least) from the battery to the remote solenoid and from there to the starter solenoid. This good connection pulls the solenoid in hard, giving the starter motor more current.
