Hey All,
I picked up a truck tailgate and hardware this weekend from a guy off craigslist to do the conversion on my 73 however the tailgate and hardware was already off the truck and looks nothing like the hardware on the current blazer tailgate.

Since I didn't see it come off the truck I was hoping that someone could post up some pics of that the tailgate looks like installed (specifically the hardware like the hinges and pivot cups).

I have to prep and paint the tailgate so its not going on any time soon but any pictures would definitely make the install process alot easier for me.

Thanks,
John

Here u go. just did it on my 74. Same on both sides. all parts from LMC

Hmmmm, so your adding a pickup truck hardware to the tailgate on the blazer? Is it a direct bolt up if you have the parts?

In my case I put a Softtopper on and replace my OEM tailgate with one from a pick up. All the mounting holes are there for the new hardware.

yup, i just got my stuff too, trunions and link assemblies for each side.. runs about $80 from LMC...

Thanks Payback! That is exactly what I needed. I had no idea the mechanism for the truck tailgate was sooo much simpler than that blazer tailgate.

So, the blazer tailgate has limit straps on it but apparently those are removed when you do the truck tailgate in place of the hinges. Can you still sit on the tailgate since those limit straps aren't there?

I think the new link assemblies, one on each side are stronger than the OEM straps. It holds my fat azz.

Awesome! I am stoked to get rid of that heavy ass blazer tailgate. I just put a softopper on mine too and damn I love that thing.
