I just replaced my tailgate with a 84 pickup one, anyone with a soft top just do it. Anyway I want to put the Blazer band on it which will cover the handle. I have looked at the handle relocation kits and will probably install one. But I would really like to know if anyone has ever put a door actuator on theirs? So I could pop the latch with a hidden button or remote.
I will probably go this route with my doors and get rid of the handles.

I thought about doing it when I swap a truck tailgate on, but have yet to take the topper off. Lots of street rod guys do it.

Well it works:D Took some doing but it works! Got the handle inside and actuator with button attached. Press the button and the latches release and I pull down the tailgate. I still need to get the remote part working. I will get some pictures posted in a few days.

Well I finally got some pictures of this. Been busy replacing axles.
Here is what it looks like all together. You can see the solenoid and relay.

Handle relocated inside, you can barely see the solenoid end with cable.

The Blazer panel sits over all of this and covers it but I have not got that picture yet.
The only problem I have found is if the battery gets too drained the solenoid does not get enough juice to open the latch. Just need to start the truck and back in business.
I also still need to get the remote connected up and working.
I like it!
