okay so today at work, i tried to start my truck and it wouldnt start. when i turned the key to "on" it made that beeping noise and the battery showed enough juice to start it, but when i started it it made a noise of helpless nature and didnt start. so my starter has been pretty messed up as it is so i ran down to napa auto parts and picked up a brand spanking new one. i put it in right, hooked up everything to where they were supposed to be. i mistakedly hooked up the small wire to the wrong post but i switched that around and now its all good. but anyway. it wont start at all. when i turn the key to "on" its supposed to make noises and activate the gauges and stuff but that doesnt even happen. nothing happens at all. the lights wont even turn on. i checked all the connections with the battery and everything looks good. i tried jumpstarting it from a little 4cyl honda and it didnt do anything. could i have possibly messed up something when i replaced the starter? oh and i checked all the ECM, ignition and other fuses and none of them blew out. i just bought this battery a couple of weeks ago, but its been dying here and there but it always held a charge, no matter how small it just would need to be jumped sometimes. im thinking my alternator might be bad too. anyways any help would be appreciated me and my friend are going to go try and look at it right now and try and troubleshoot it a little bit more. thanks
