Ok, I have been trying to get my truck to fire up for a while. I moved it in early feb and it fired up after a few minutes of trying and a little assistance carb cleaner. I brought to my house and it sat for a few months. Now I am trying to get it to fire up again but no luck. The starting is turning the engine but its not firing. I changed my rotor, distributor cap, ignition coil, battery amd no luck. I checked all of my spark plugs they are good. Made sure everything is in teh correct firing order. I checked to see if I was getting a spark to the distributor cap from teh ignition coil by using a screwdriver but I didn't see a spark. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

I'd be suspecting either the ignition module or your power feed to the distributor. You can get the module tested at most autoparts stores, and can check the power feed with a test light or multimeter.

Bingo..

a 20.00 part that can leave you stranded. I always carried a spare.

Like he said, with just a cheap test light check to see that you have power at the plug going into your dizzy, . Then have someone crank it and see if you have spark by holding a plug near your manifold.

The module is real easy to change.

Oh, try not to be touching the truck, or be within an inch of the body while testing the ignition... 50 000V tingles a bit!
