Truck wont start - ideas?

Missed the video first time around.
I can't tell if the engine is hydro locked, or if and electric issue.
Get a breaker bar and 5/8 deep socket to see if you can turn the engine by hand.
Use the center bolt bottom pulley.

will do.
before pulling plugs or after?
cant tell if you mean do that first to diagnose it, or manually crank once plugs are pulled

Well if you can't turn it by hand with the plugs in it is hydro locked.
This will tell us if your engine is hydro locked, or has an electrical issue in the cranking circuit.

Yes thank you I will fix it
I assumed it was typo, but just makin sure - you know more about K5's than me!

Watching the original vid, my gut says battery not giving enough amps..... Have you tried jumper cables attached to another car? Or a fully charged jumper box?

You already put a starter in.... all the grounds are good?

I thought that initially too, I took my battery in to get tested and fully charged. They said it was good but it’s weak and on it’s last quarter of life.

Ok, I’ll try to get under there and turn by hand with everyone connected and plugs in to see if it moves

How long did their test take? A proper trickle charge takes like 24 hours. I have had auto parts stores take my battery for an hour and tell me that is good, when it ended up being bad. It's not unusual for a battery to test good on their little computer but then fail under a real-life load.

That's why I asked if you've tried jumper cables. If it fires with jumper cables connected to a good running car, then it's bad battery

ah good call, they did keep it for about an hour. ill try jumper cables if im able to turn it by hand

@fordsucks! Here’s the latest. Got under the hood and turned the crankshaft pulley no problem manually. Instead of trying to jump it, I just went and got a new battery since the last one was on its way out. I got an optima red top with a good amount more cranking capacity.
Now when I try to start it, it’s cranking but won’t fire.
Good news is I think this means I’m not hydro locked, right?
I have spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor that I was planning on replacing anyway.
Think those will do the trick or should I try starting fluid?
Here’s a couple vids of what it sounds like now. Sounds like it’s trying!
Also noticed fuel on one of the headers/muffler. Probably a good sign since fuel injectors and fuel pump were replaced

What do you guys think?

That fuel on the exhaust is a clue the cylinders were pushing fuel out the exhaust. Good time to cease trying to start it for today

Also, open the filler cap and make sure the tank is not pressurized

I only cranked it for a min or two. Let off for the night. Any idea what next steps are?

Yes

Wait until tomorrow

Unplug the wires to the injectors
Change the oil

Troubleshoot why you have no spark
1 - coil
2 - rotor
3 - test coil for power
4 - replace the plugs, probably pretty wet by now

Seeing as the coil was probably never replaced on this thing, I’ll probably do :
- coil
- spark plugs/wires
- distributor rotor and cap
- oil change

For the injector power. You mean just unplug and let it sit for a while? Or while doing the above work?
