I've been beating this to deat about redo-ing my rear cage and ditching the 4 seater idea since the truck frame really doesn't co-operate well with the idea and kills all my storage room. Here is what I am thinking. More triangulation obviously but this would be the basic shape. Pros/Cons, constructive criticism.... Thanks

Later in life I could link the rear and ditch the rest of the back too

I think you can do the cage like what is above and still have the seat back there. Have it on an easy (pin on and off) latch system and when you don't need it take it out. I gonna do something like it on mine. I like the idea of being able to take a couple of people to the trail but as soon as it gets harry everyone is walking.

I was thinking of making the back seat face backward but easily removeable. With it where it is sitting now I have no room for spare and tools, etc

went ahead and cut off rear top cage and was playing with a pice I had bent for something else but it almost fits. It is going to turn into a 3 seater now.

replace the back seat with a fuel cell and chop off the frame behind the rear shackle
edit
looking closer, you'd have to link it to really be able to cut much off

yeah, later in life or this winter I think I may link it and whack off frame in back and cut the cage shorter too to like where my back bars come in in this concept pic. Untill then I'll run 3 seater and full frame.

well went ahead and changed it. I think it loks better and still has function

I think a cross bar in the back wouldn't be a bad idea, but yes I too think looks better with the new design....
