Trying to find a set of ball joints (10 bolt) so I can put my blazer back together this weekend. I would like to go get these today during buisness hours so I can have the truck mobile by monday...
I've been searching here and all over the interweb for about an hour. Nobody stocks moog(federal mogal?) Napa doesn't have their premiums in stock - same price as moog...
Can't find Dana/spicer stuff either...
DON"T WANT TO BUY PEPBOYS/AUTOZONE/KRAIGAN HOUSE BRANDS!

I can get TRW joints today. Anybody have expierience with these? They are cheaper than Moog/Napa premiums...

trw + moog + spicer all = just fine in my book. been using them all for years. and yes stay away from chain store house crap like you posted. and napa prem is good also like carquest prem.

I was on my way to go pick up my TRW ball joints, when I called one last place...
"if you don't like those I could get you MOOG in about half an hour..."
I spent about twice as much as the TRW ones, but they're in my hand, and I drove half as far...

time \ vs / money \ vs / parts you happy with = good pay off in the end i think.

not think you are a new bee to this but you got a ball joint press right ?

and make sure the tapered cone seat is not cracked in the inner c were the upper b/j stud goes up in that sets pre load on the b/j setup.

Are you telling me to make sure the inner C is not cracked?, or the threaded insert that goes in it? Not sure which you are refering to...
nothing appears to cracked...
but the moog joints came with new inserts/hardware so I plan on using the new stuff...

Anyways,
Took longer than I thought to cut and turn knuckles/ fab &weld shims to front end.
By the time I got around to the ball joints it was getting late... old joints are out - haven't pushed in the new ones... spent the last part of my day making a tool to preload the adjusters with (spanner socket?). Was hoping to reassemble today. Oh well.

I bought my whole set from the dealership new. Suprisingly cheap.

Oh yeah? What brand and how cheap? I've seen new replacements (not ball joints)from dealerships that were total crap. Were these things dana/spicer? or "no bueno senor"?

Not sure. Just went to our parts guy and had him order a stock gm set. I figured if they went 140k on my truck they should go another.

I got spicers at the dealer that listed for 96 bucks a side. I said I would buy more genuine GM parts if he would give me better prices. He sold them to me for 46 bucks a side, not bad.
