Trying Hard not to Hate "The Anti Prius"

I do still have and put new urethane spacers on the TC to the frame brace. As far as the drive shaft theory, Possible, But I just had my front re-done because it was too long and upon compression it WAS binding and snapping off bolts at the TC because as it was binding I was usually deep into the pedal. It was done by a reputable Drive line company here in the OC. That still doesn't mean it couldn't of done this just that it shouldn't. Anyways took the trans up to my trans guy yesterday AM and tonight it's ready for pickup with my new old internals installed in a new case.:woot: Looks like I've got another wrenchin weekend to look forward to:rolleyes:

I did that exact thing. Mine broke right threw the middle of the governor. Driveshaft was too long.
It does make t-case removal easier. It will just slide off. No unbolting needed.

What if you just lowered your bump stops a bit? I bet compressing the suspension with whatever methods you have will still not compress it as much as a hard hit like that.

It's not a question of "IF" but "When" gravity will kick your TRUCKS ass

Fixed your signature for you.:D

I try to get everybody, who tries to any speed at all, to install air bumps. Saves parts by the truck or hitting hard.

:bow::bow: Thanks Man! Bumps are OK were on the list of things to get, so now, back on the list (priority). Could of had them a few times but I keep breaking the truck and needing the $$$$ to just keep it running. Last Jan Rebuilt a blown trans, Feb drive shaft re-sizing, Sept Ordered the fuel cell because the old tank leaks so bad I was worried about burning the whole thing to the ground, and now Oct the physical breakage of trans case. those things alone would of got me some Killer bumps.

Took me 2 tranny cases to figure out my driveshaft was too long too. I thought it was the lack of support rods that was causing it. But now that I got it all back together it hasnt done it since. And I never used them rods, just tossed em  (18yr olds do silly things).

And it does make for easy removal as another said already. But it makes it much more difficult to get it on a trailer. Vise grips can do wonders. :haha:

vise grips...... ratchet straps..... come a long...... been there done that..... and yes it sucks.....:D

F#*%$*$#@^$&$#@%^$^&K!:weapon38::zombie15: One 2 day trip and the F-IN Flex Plate is broken AGAIN. 3rd one this year. I am so frustrated right now it's not even funny. I'm really trying hard not to hate the Anti Prius.

How exactly did it break? Strip the teeth off, or shear the bolts off? I am curious as I have never seen one break in a DD application.

far from a DD'er...
:haha::haha::haha::doah:Thanks man, don't know why but it got me laughing & wondering why I did not build a DD out of it:dunno:
How it breaks, it cracks along the bolt pattern in an outward circular flow leaving the bolts and a small circle of plate connected to the motor. The rest is still connected to the torque converter.

I bet thats a deathly sound when they come apart :eek1::doah:. There must be some stronger ones that can be had. Could it be from the drivetrain torqing around possibly? Add some more bracing to stop the twisting?
