Trying to get ALL my trucks into one picture = Difficult

one question....WHY!!!! WTF. I have to agree with other people. Pick a couple you really want and part out/sell all the others. Put the money into the ones you really want.

he said it before. those that were getting scrapped, were too far gone to worry about. i'm sure he has so many parts he can't keep track. i have a small barn half full of stuff from scrapping trucks and i still can't find what i need half the time.

and why not have alot of trucks? get tired of one, drive/use another. he always says he hardly got anything in them or traded stuff for them. so what could be better then cheap trucks??

True but someone will buy some of that crap and he can get some money out of it. Ebay and Craigslist :D. Remember the saying....one mans trash is another mans treasure (I believe that is it). Still dont see the point of that many trucks. I enjoy cars and trucks as much as the next guy. Got 6 cars, the blazer and a bike myself but that is more than enough projects.

I don't really have a point to have that many... but...

The '68 Chevy 2wd was my dads and we've had it since a year before I was born.

The red '78 was originally a C20 2wd and was "my" first truck when I got a license. Now it's a true K30 below the body.

The '64 Int'l is one we had when my dad was still around too, and it's complete so, I didnt pay anything for it, so it'll stay.

The '73 Int'l truck, '74 Scout II and Wagoneer... same as above.

The '80 GMC was the truck we bought to be a 4x4 replacement for the '68 Chevy for all around use back when I was 14 years old, and it's one of my favorite trucks.

The "Truck Blazer" was bought because I wanted a K5, though it was more truck than K5, but I kept it and it's grown since then and well I just cant get rid of it now.

The Camo Blazer was bought for $400 running, and has since paid for itself, and will soon become the designated "trail" rig.

The Orange Blazer was gotten to have a K5 I could drive on the street and also to have a full removable top, but has since been parted out and rebuilt with free parts, so right now I have like less than $200 into it (depending on what tires its on at the time). But for what I'm into it, its not worth getting rid of.

The Blue Blazer became the rig that I actually intend on making a street driver K5 that can do all around wheeling.

The '55 Napco... well, it's rare and I traded like under $400 worth of stuff for it.

The FJ55 Landcruiser, well, the way it sits Ive made like a $300 profit from it, and have the 1-ton 4.88 Dana 60 and 14-bolt for it, and a 327 ready to drop in it.

The $400 '79 Toyota... hey, it was a $400 Toyota turn key. I always can part out out later on.

Both Buses I actually rode to school in high school in 9th grade, and when the school sold them I got both for $500... so I can keep them around.

The Little Crew Cab is getting a Cummins motor and will be the main tow rig.
l_7070ce5e9cf0d27fa78a595a99bd6464.jpg

The big Crew Cab may be getting a 560 big block and 54" tires and will be the mini-minster truck.

The Budget Suburban is a no bucks rig with all the good stuff with no cash invested.
ms07allanbudgetburb1.jpg

The Snow Plow truck will be designated for plowing, hauling tools, and the welder/generator.

The '72 GMC Jimmy was given to me by a family member as long as I didnt get rid of it.

The '81 Suburban is supposed to be my main people hauling rig.

The Stepside I never intended on keeping... was going to rob the 1-ton axles, winch and big block, swap in 3/4 ton stuff, a small block and stock bumpers, and re-sell it. Then it grew on me cause I didnt have a Stepside yet.

The '85 is a budget no bucks rebuilding of an '85 I had years before and liked, this time using all 1-ton stuff and a budget of "spare parts" so far.

And the '83 C10 conversion to 4x4? I dont know why I kept this truck, it was a $500 2wd, drove it, but wasnt happy with it being a 1/2 ton 2wd. Now it's a K30 4x4 and from selling all the 2wd's excess components and using parts from parted out rigs, I have a K30 truck that I'm into under $200 cash, probably less actually. I just need to finish bolting the body on.

So Ive gone over and over each and every truck many times before, but these are the main ones I havent been able to make myself let go of for sentimental reason, or other reason.

I have given up several of my "other" projects though...

What I did was started the "Adopt-A-Project" program within our group and basically am letting friends put together some mud boggers/off road trucks using the leftover parts from the parts rigs. They arent done yet but next year they will be started on.

"Titanic" (Int'l Travelall) is going on a Suburban frame with a 60 front, 14 rear, 4.56 gears, 44" Gumbos, SB400, TH400 and NP241. Total money in parts=0
l_d3fb85b8442a150b5bdefd9dc285b280.jpg

The Buick "Bomber" is a '76 Electra going on a regular K10 truck frame with the Buick 455, TH400, divorced t-case, and 3/4 ton axles.
l_1f50ebe7fdf8ed3c7c1d6e1e99f14f9c.jpg

The "Race Truck" is getting a SB400, TH350, NP203, Eaton 4.56 ratio rear end, and unknown front end so far.
l_b9710bebcf9836b8eeba3f75b4c06e32.jpg

The Ventura was one of those cars that just showed up at random at my place. A friend adopted it to put it on a K5 frame.
l_576bdee05029c5e8bc03497634e142bf.jpg

And within my fleet, a friend has adopted the Budget Suburban, and another friend adopted the Jeep Wagoneer.

The deal with the adopt-a-truck program is that all rigs remain mine (so no one can sell any of them) but whoever puts them together has sole rights to assemble, drive, break and fix them. We'll see how this works out next year.

so i have a question could be a tough one to answer. but in all the collection and trading and swapping and buying and what not. do you think your under or over? meaning have you profited off all this stuff in even in the slightest? cause if you did you are pure genius man!

wish my yard looks like that. when i buy junk i usually have a week to pick everything off of it and junk it before the city gets on me. if i had the room id have kept every parts truck i ever bought. theres been so many times when i needed something stupid like a shock bolt or spring hanger for projects

Have I profited? Some stuff yeah, some stuff no... all in all, I havent been in this for the money. I'm not running a wrecking yard. My main goal when I buy a rig is to buy it for a part I need, be it a winch, a Dana 60, a set of tires, an axle with a locker, a lift kit, body parts, or other accessories.

In the end, it's given me pretty much all the stuff I want to put all my trucks together, so (discounting a couple of my rigs), I probably have less money into most of them that some do into one.

Some deals Ive bought and made a profit on re-selling what I didnt use, and that money has helped me on fuel costs and entry fee's for off-road events and mud races. (that and aluminum cans).

Most of the non-73-87 Chevy truck stuff up there isnt mine, its stuff that belonged to friends or others in the area, and abondoned/junk cars they wanted hauled off, and I hauled them all up to add to my pile to help clean up the town area and also to make sure I had enough scrap weight for a car crusher to come up and haul everything away.

I just want it all gone and my property cleaned up again, I mean I have pretty much all I need now... a Dana 60 for every rig, enough motors, spare big block cores, extra body panels... sure I'll still by a good deal in the future but I'm not going to let it accumulate like this again.

I just have broad form insurance for liability only. I can only drive one at a time, so it follows me around to what I'm driving at the time.
I'm guessing if a friend of yours was driving a truck it wouldn't be covered then right? I gotta look into this as I have three trucks but I dont want to put insurance on all three
