NV Trying to sell 1974 K5 Blazer

I'm in Vegas (well, Henderson). Looks like a clean truck, still has the full time 4X4. If I didn't have one already, I'd check it out.

Full verts are pretty desirable, although the front clip swap might be a bit polarizing. You could start at $6500-7000 and see what happens. Might be worth even more to the right person, but that could take awhile.

Thank you very much for your input!

That interior is very off putting. If I were a buyer I'd move right past it without even making an offer because IMHO your price is quite high.

An $8500 second gen K5 needs nothing.

waaay too many things missing and or worn out to fetch that price. Slice the price in half and you'll find someone looking for a project.

Also, I think the 90+ front end hurts the value

I understand. I honestly wouldn't have listed it at that price. But to many k5 enthusiasts have told me not to let it go for less than 10k. So idk what to do with it. I might just scrap it or something. Thanks for the input guys!

tell them to show you 10K!

It's not scrap by any means but I think your price is double what the market is.

I'll try with a lower price and see what happens. If it sells it sells. If not then I'll probably junk it. Thanks a lot for your help!

It's definitely not junk, and it does have a lot of good things going for it. I'd try $4200 or best offer and see if there is any interest. The market always decides what something is worth, but it helps to be in the right ballpark.

I understand totally. I was offered 5500 a few days ago. I might contact the guy and see if he still wants it.

That's a $2,500 Blazer, or $200 worth of scrap. Call the guy offering $5,500 as quick as you can.

That K5 has had some horrible previous owners that must have committed some sort of crime for what they did to that poor K5. It makes me think of an embarrassed kid having to wear some goofy outfit and worried his friends might see him before he changes back into his normal clothes.

That truck is a project truck. Even if you 'junk' it, someone will buy it from the junk yard.

The K5 has a nice base design that from the core is both streetable and offroadable. It is a nice combination. That will never be lost on these and is why they have such longevity in both the production run and owners that continue to drive them 20+ years after the last one rolled off a GM assembly line. In my opinion, the smaller jeeps and broncos (GenI) get parked because at the end of the day they are just too small. While the Ramcharger and Bronco (2nd gen) are K5 knockoffs and had design issues that meant they just don't quite have the right balance like the K5 has.

No doubt you will find a buyer but your price expectation needs to fit the market. As the comments you are getting shows, there is not a whole lot of demand for what you have there at $10k. At $500, each of us will come get it from you in Nevada. Somewhere between $500 and $10k is the happy equilibrium, but you will only find a few people are in the spot.

Car selling 101. Presentation is everything. Clean and shiny makes up for a lot of hurt. Wash it, wax it, armorall the tires, polish chrome, and OMG put some $20 seat covers on it. A days work and $30 bucks in supplies can net over a grand in a lot of cases. Presentation is everything.

I think a cheap set of 33's under that would net you a bit also. It is a really nice looking truck (Body & Color). Wishing you luck because I'd hate to see you scrap it.
