when you rotate steel belted tires, you swap front to rear, never.. side to side,(unless you remount tire on rim backards),so not to reverse rotation of tire b/c steel belts get stretched in that direction and reversing will cause wires to break and start sticking out of tire!

w/tsl bias ply tires...is this a concern? i just bought a set of tsl 44's and have no idea which was right front or left front or rear? i always mark rotation on tire when i pull them off(no matter what kind,..RF,LF,RR,LR), but po didn't do this...he said it didn't matter on bias ply, only if they are steel belted...is this true?

we in the tire industry have not had any problems for years. it even shows you to criss cross in owners man and lots of other info places.

you do how ever need to see if chopping or cupping has started. if so always make the high side of the chopping or cupping hit first . it will give less vib problems as tire hops up. if low side first tire will drop down then up so 2x the bouncing.

now if you have true directional tread tires left is left and right is right.

or if race car tires and speced on side wall outside and inside and left and right then mount them only this way.

as to broken belts. 98% of socalled broken belts i see is driver error or road damage.

and i live in a big pot hole zone called ny / pa area.

ive got bias iroks (which are directional). when i rotate, can i criss-cross so that the patter is backwards or will that cause them to wear weird?

directional tires should be run in rotation stated...i was worrid about the belts/plys getting streched in 1 direction, then turn them the other way, makin tread seperate and throw chunks
