tsl cut patterns

I don't have any good pics of mine Mike but I like cutting the center tread but on angles from the outside edge of the lug to the inside like this <. I have actually grooved several sets and this seems to work the best overall. I never cut the outside lug cause they seem to have big problems chunking out. Center treads don't seem to do it.

I did a funky cut on a tire that worked good too but it was alot of work. I will see if I can get a pic of it

Here are a few I like. Thr first is how I plan to do mine. I agree with Blazin, don't do the outer lugs.

those all good patterns .

i did just the center blocks on a set of 38" tsl tires 1 time. wow what a diffrence in the snow. and i didnt even change a thing on air pressure at 25 psi. just cut the center blocks in to 3 like posted in pics.

Here are my 42" TSLs. When I get my next set, I will cut the centers diagonal and will not cut the outers. I did these for mud, But the next set will be for trails and such. I got the rims and tires off CL for $100.00.

Were your tires so dirty, you had to clean them for the picture? I love it!!!! Very nice.

Yep, I have and used the Ideal unit also. I used the #6 also. Took forever! Next time I'm going with the #8 I think. I had to make a couple passes between each center lug. I think with the #8 it would be faster and look cleaner and look better. That's my .02 cents.

i use the stk size head that comes with the unit. for up to 38x12.50 swampers. works perfectly.

then i got 1 thats almost 2x wider for the over 38x12.50 swampers with the fatter wear bars and lug patterns. that makes all the diffrence.

and if newish tires i use round head blades. if realy worn tires and redoing them to live a little longer i go square cut blades to keep out of the cords.
