I was going to post this in the tool section but on account of having already sold one, this forum seemed more appropriate.

Started out in this project just to make tube bending a little quicker. A nicer looking piece of equipment is not a bad thing either.

Lot of features here are a bit hard to see in the photos. There is a provision for an output table that rotates around the die centerline. This was put in place to make bending multiple bends on a single plane both faster and more accurate.

There is also an input table that will bolt on. Again for the same purpose. Sometimes it helps to flip the tube and bend from the opposite end. Never hurts to have something hold the tube up for you while you are setting your bend position.

110v. Electric over hydraulic dual action pump with solenoid valves. The remote pendant is on the end of a 14' lead.

All skinned in aluminum with a on/off switch for the pump and auxiliary 110v. outlet on the front. Directly below the outlet and switch is where the pendant cord comes out through a cord strain relief. Directly below that there will be a fill port for the hydraulic res.

As of tonight its fully skinned. A bit of seam welding and then I can get the die set hangers put on as well as the cord hangers for both the power supply cord and control pendant.

Ooops....

Somehow I managed to click on forum low on the list.

I wasn't really building them with the intent on selling them but one of our customers that runs his own small shop was pretty intent on taking this one with him. We agreed he should have his own, so, I guess I'm selling them now.

Hope to have this one completely finished tomorrow, maybe saturday. Then i'll post up some pics and vids.

sick...

I'd like to do that in a couple yrs with mine...

pretty happy with the outcome. Could maybe use a slightly longer cylinder. Bore seems good though considering the speed and power balance. The cylinder is what was on the bender before and didn't see any need to change it out just yet. Maybe in the future but really not gona save much more time now.

Still got to build the input and output tables.

not having done ANY homework on this, which is the better avenue, air/hydro or elec/hydro?

I always kinda assumed I'd go electric...

air/ hydro 's are SLOW from all the vids I've watched. But cheaper than elect/ and easier than hand/ ratchet.

There are some air/hydraulic setups that are fast but of course they need massive volume or pressure or... Can't remember. Really not worth it. This pump could be setup for 220v as well and draw half the amps but doesn't really make sense either. Does fine on 110 and the majority of the time the pump is idling with it as quick as it is.

what's the average price range on the electric pumps 2 to $300 or so?
