i once had a design for building a tube cage for my truck when i was CAD at school. was pretty sweet, if i can find it i'll send u a jpeg of it to give u sum ideas. oooh!! what about a mid engined rig? good wieght distr. and such. okies, now my gears are turning! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

What CAD program did you use? Can I get a copy of it to play with?

the real killer for a mid engine would be a hydro pump and some hydraulic motor hubs.... That would kick ace, no diffs to smash no axles to get in the way, instant ground clearance

we wanna put the skins of an s10 pickup on it, and just needed ideas for the chassis, to fit inside the skins. Was seeing if anyone had any pics of an s10 allready done so we could expand of that. Also marv I guess youve heard jeff wasnt able to take the tranny to your brother this weekend so we will work something out later, either when I head that way or know of someone that does, or if duanne could meet me halfway some weekend or something like that. I'll let you know when I get something figured out.

Jim,

If I was gonna build a tube frame to go under a body, I'd prolly start w/ rectangular tube... like 4"x2". Then take off of that with round for the cage...etc.

/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif... just a suggestion.

yeah thats what we got, rectangular for the main frame then gonna to the skeleton in tube, just needed some ideas, your pics are helping, were still laying it all out, probably gonna practice with the bender by putting an internal cage in my blazer, then get the s10 pickup body so we can get some measurments and go from there. Do you know of any AutoCad programs that can be downloaded pretty cheap?

I know this is an old post, but does anyone have any drawings / ideas for a tube chassis for a K5?

Thanks
