Tube doors and mirrors

No pics, welded a tab to the door, took a mirror from a 92 chevy p.u., removed all of the hardware except the 90degree tube and mirror head, inserted and welded a "tube nut" into the mirror tube, bolted to the tab on the door. I will attempt to find/take some pics...

I was in a motorcycle dealership the other day. They had some mirrors there that looked exactly like the ones from my DIY4x doors. Or that's just what Vee put on himself. Motorcycle mirrors are perfect, mine are big, like a small cars'. Drill one hole, bolt in and tight, adjust, be happy. Easy to take off when you get to the fun, one nut and be happy again.

Use a stick on rear view mirror on your cage instead....a little humor there, lets see how this plays out.
Really if your running tube doors ( for trail I assume) why worry about mirrors, they just always seem to get ripped off anyway.

Thats my experience. There is no way I could run a mirror without adjusting it every 5min. Don't need them.

Really just need mirrors because I occasionally drive it through the gate to get to work.....Like once a week in summer

I like the motorcycle mirror idea

Anyone that rides motorcycles knows how useless the mirrors are on one. They might work on a truck, but id want something with more coverage. The way ive seen some of the tube doors, they have covers or plates over the hinge area to hide the hinges, on these plates it would be pretty easy to incorporate the factory mirrors, they just bolt to the sheet metal anyways, be easy to weld or bolt the back plate to the hinge cover and then put the factory cover of the whole thing.

these work suprisingly well. can attach on drip rail or on the door frame.

Here is the pic, I think they are a little pricey, but you should be able to come up with something similar.

The stick on mirrors actually work very well. They are the kind that you stick on to your conventional mirror for blind spots.

Of course you really shouldn't push to hard on em. They tend to break. :doah:

On my ZJ I got a set of Jeep Wrangler mirrors and had a buddy cut me a piece of 1/4" flat stock that matched the bolt pattern of the Wrangler mirrors and the pattern of my ZJ's door hinge bolts, viola!- fully functional bolt on doorless mirrors that don't look goony!

You could do similar for your tube doors, just get the mirrors and get a piece of plate, cut it, drill it, and weld (or bolt) that plate to the flat front portion of your tube doors! By the way, I know you've got some nice looking tube doors! Thread needs pics! :waytogo:

I used the stock mirrors to but i moved them forward and mounted them on the front fender . they fold flat to fender when you don't need them.
