I'm talking about the part that connects the towers to the frame

They are meant to be mounted directly to the frame, that person simply did it differently.

You can use a couple short pieces of 1.5" or 1.75" DOM to make the nearly perpendicular ties like in the previous pic, If you end up needing to trim the Shock Towers down, what you trim off could be used potentially.
