I am going to get a 4" Tuff Country kit for my 72. What is the difference between the EZ Ride and the HD? I like a firm ride but don't want anything too harsh. The rig will be 50/50 street/trail. What are you guys running? I saw a review tieh a link to this site on their site. Thanks

Go with the EZ rides unless you have a big block and a huge bumber or a diesel. The EZ rides will be a nice ride on the road and flex well on the trail. The HD's are stiffer and don't flex as well.

I run 6'' TC's not sure if they are EZ or HD's? I assume EZ because i asked for the softest spring they had. They ride nice.

From what I've read, the HD springs come with one extra short spring on the bottom of the pack. I think ORD offers the short HD springs for $20 (or $25, check their site) - so if you find the EZ rides to soft, you can always make them into HD springs later by adding the short bottom ones.

It also makes a big difference whether or not you stick with the bonded bushings, or upgrade to ORD or DIY4X4 greaseable bushings. Bonded bushings are a spring on their own.
Beyond that, get Bilsteins.

I run 6 inch EZ rides up front and 3 inch in back with a shackle flip and extended shackles. Good ride on the road and trail. I don't have any problem with them flexing too much. I also have a heavy cage, bumpers, sliders, and tire carrier.

Yup, just a leaf (1) added to the pack. Steve from ORD recommended it because of my bumper/winch combo. Rides nice, the rear springs however

This Red K5 is one of my favorites in the 'looks' category!

As already mentioned, the only difference is the HD's have an extra leaf on the bottom of the pack. The price difference is $20, so in my opinion I would just go ahead and get the HD's and you can always take the leaf out. Somebody mentioned above that you could buy this leaf for $20-$25 but you would need to factor in shipping and such.

In any case, I have the 4" HD leafs because of the diesel and winch bumper and am happy. The TC leafs replaced a well-worn set of Skyjacker softrides and I think the TC are a little softer and flex better even when brand new compared to the broken in Skyjackers.

I've got the 4" EZ's on my 71 and I think they are plenty stiff. I can't imagine what HD versions are like.

Go with the EZs. They flex better. They will be fine on your truck. I had the EZ and later on I added the extra leaf to turn them into the HD.
The only reason I did that is because I added a ton of weight to my truck. I run a full exo, winch and a massive 1/4 plate 3x8 front bumper, Group 31 battery, among other things. The HDs bounce alot more also.
