I was pretty set on doing a shackle flip on my truck but then got to looking at the tuff country complete lift kit with spring all around. When I started adding up all I would need with the shackle flip they are around the same price. Am I going to be disappointed in the ride if I buy the complete tuff country kit with EX rides? Are their shocks any good that come with their kit, SX8000 Nitro Gas. Thanks guys, I'd like to get something ordered this week so I can get to work on it.

You must be figuring wrong somewhere, overall it's a good $200 cheaper to run the flip.

Shop around.. if your going for 4" it's easy to find stuff, you could be lifted with a flip for around $500 with used springs, new shocks, steering arm, rubber brake lines, etc. I have about $300-$350 into my 4" lift with a block kit...

Don't shy away from used springs.. just means they are already broke in :D

I have that exact kit in my truck and I love it. Rides nicely for a 4" lift. Also decently flexy too. I dont like shackle flips too much because you are still using the same 30 year old leaf springs that are sagged and have seen better days. Might even be cracked like mine were. Also with shackle flips you get the rear tires not exactly centered in the rear wheel well. Ya a zero rate will take care of that, but that just adds to the cost.

Did you have to buy anything in addition to what came with the kit? How stiff are the back springs?

I don't think there is anyway I could do it for $500 bucks. The front springs from tuff country are $275, shackle flip $200, still need brake lines, u bolts, shocks, steering arm... If I am going to spend that much I might as well just buy the package from Tuff Country and get new springs for the rear.

You can always get springs now and do a shackle flip down the road. I four some used 4" springs so I saved alot by searching around.

I also replaced the shackles when I did the suspention. I chose to get my own shocks though. I just bought some Rancho 5000s, cheap and they work well. Other than that there wasn't anything that i needed extra. As far as pinion angle, mine was fine and I get no vibes all the way past 90mph.

i just ordered the complete ORD kit as the truck i have only has 37k on the body its been sitting FOREVER and all of the suspension is shot...i will post a review when i get it all installed...
