Have a buddy with a 2015 Suburban, 5.3 that is looking into tuners, any suggestions?
He is also wanting to add air bags for towing i you also have any recommendations?

I have no experience with either of those things, or a vehicle that new. But based on what I have seen before. I would look at Banks first if he can't find some place locally with great reviews. Banks seems to have spent time doing research, IMO.
I am assuming that it has rear coils and not auto-ride. Firestone used to have bags to go inside of coil springs. Not sure if they still do.

Atomic Fabrication from Alabama for the tuning. He’s got a FB page. I used him to tune my 14 Silverado and he did a great job. He’s real active on performancetrucks.net.

Thanks guys, I think he is just looking for a simple off the shelf solution to use while towing, anyone have experience with any of the out of the box tuners?

I never had good luck with the inside the coil air bags. They would usually wear against the coil and pop and then we'd be stuck warranteeing them. THey work but they are only 2k rated as well.

Most canned tunes don't do much. They help very little. Some of the biggest changes come from the trans tuning. Black Bear tuning is huge with the LS crowd and they can get you setup. They use EFI Live. There's several very reputable LS tuners out there.

I had a pair (air lift brand) on my 02 Z71 Tahoe and they worked great. I put over 150K miles on them and towed some stupid heavy shit with that setup.

Good to know. Not sure if the rust belt had anything to do with the issues we have here but I know they weren't a favorite.

Air Lift makes good stuff and they stand behind their product though, so that may be a good route.

The rust complicates everything, I could imagine rusty spings could wear the bags differently.

@CK5 if you decide to go with bags I would recommend mounting the air fittings behind the gas door. Easily accessible and they stay pretty clean.
