1...Any of you guys tune your propane kit with an o2 sensor..? Im in the middle of tuning my carb and i was thinking thats a route to go, should help to get it tuned in better.

2.. Any tips on tuning the x450 carb

3...What kind of an initial and total timing do you guys have..?

4... How far away from the carb is your evap..?

I have mine at 10 initial and 24 total right now, with the x450 carb it seems to pull thru some good rpms. I adjusted the mixture by turning it in till it starts to spudder then back out, basicly leaning it till it spudders then richened back out.

Also how are your vac hoses ran and do you run a pcv..?

I havent had much time but im slowly getting to it.

A few things on the propane subject

I figured id give everyone some info on this for anyone running propane. I moved the vaporizer right next to the carb, shortening the large gaan hose to only 7 inches. That made throttle response much faster and cleaner. As for cold starts, it turns over only a few times and fires up. With the hose long (30 inches) it cranked atleast 12 times.

The other prob i had was it running real rich, the mixture screw cranked all in. To fix that running rich i losened the 3 screws in the lid of the x450a and removed the top, inside are 3 fuel rods that are adjustable. The set heigth i had before of the screws were 839, by shortening the screws to .835 it leaned out to where the mixture screw had movement 4 turns each way.

To get it tuned real close to where it should be i hooked up the air/fuel aem digital wideband guage with heated 02 that i spoke above. I read that 15.5 with propane is stoich and that i should get 16.1 when cruising along and mid 13-14s when under load. Right now its set to exactly that and seems to run rather well.

The timing i have set to 10 degrees, advance is at 25 giving me 35 total. Seem to run better with more initial but with that i get more total numbers and heat when im hard on it. It seems to pull to a full and clean 5500 rpms.
