I have a question for the experts out there. The have a turbo 350/203 that I grenaded and need to replace as inexpensively as possible. I have a 2WD truck 350 and a 208 that was behind a 700r4 that are available to me. My question is this; can I swap the tail shaft from my 4WD th350 into my 2WD th350 inexpensively? Is this even a viable option? As far as the 208 goes I believe the 700 and 350 use the same adapters is this true? Thank you in advance for all your advice. This is by far the best place for information on the web.

AFAIK the output shaft is a different length for the 203 and 208. the 208 is a little longer

the 350 and 700r4 use the same adapter

to use a 4x4 tranny in a 2wd or vice versa you have to completely disassemble the tranny so you can remove the output shaft and swap it, the shaft is the first thing put in when assembling a tranny

th350 and 3 speed and 700r4 are all 27 spline

also side loaded 4 speeds and thm200c and thm2004r are 27 too

4x4 27 spline output shaft is shorty stubby one, im pretty sure is the shortest 4x4 output shaft GM had

i have a good 4x4 th350 for sale ive been trying to get rid of for a measly 75 bucks, too bad you have no way to get it

good luck
