turbo 350 troubles, need help asap!

I just installed the lt1 into my buddies truck and everything was going great until we tried to move it. when shifted into reverse, drive or any otherr gear it does nothing. when the old motor was pulled the kickdown cable got ripped off we filled the tranny back up with fluid (its reading full on the dipstick) i know a turbo 350 can be run with out a kick down but could something of happened when the kickdown got ripped out? also when putting it back into park it makes a grinding sound. i need help on this asap guys. If we are talking a 4wd truck do you mean the kind of grinding noise a tranny makes when you put it back in park because the t-case is stuck in neutral?

i bet thats it. thanks alot man! if you can think of anything else just in case but were going to go to his house and try it right now. wow do i feel stupid!
