Has anyone ever pulled the accumalator spring from their turbo 350 to firm up shift points?
From what I've heard/read, that results in exceedingly hard shifts that break things in the trans. Hard shifts are not what you want, firm quick shifts are. Not a good idea to hammer every shift. If you want to firm up and quicken the shifts, get a shift kit...
When a friend of mine rebuilt one for me he stuck a piece of steel rod (about 1 1/4" diameter, I can't remember the length) in there. It shifted firm but didn't "bang".
