turbo with auto trans

Keep in mind that even with a turbo the 6.2 isn't putting out much, if any, more power than a stock small block gas V-8.

^^^^What he said. The TBI 350 and a turbocharged 6.2 are around 200HP. The turbodiesel will make about 75 ft*lb more torque, though, and do it down lower in the revs.

My 700R4 does just fine behind my 6.2l w/Banks. As long as you don't think a TV cable is a kickdown cable and pay attention to a few other details you'll be fine.

What do you mean by this? I have heard from a few other hotrod guys about the tv cable but don't know much about it. Ill be running 33's and 4.10's in a heavy crew cad. Don't want the motor bein able to pull it and not the tranny. I would get a 4l80 but the wife said I can't spend that much right. And this will be a daily driver so reliablity is a must.

What I mean (in general) is that the 700R4 is a good trans if understood and treated accordingly.

What I mean specifically is that the TV cable must be set and adjusted properly, or you'll smoke the trans in no time. It is not in any way a kickdown cable like a TH350 or TH400 have. Here's a link: http://700r4.com/faq/whattv.shtml

And updated properly. The early models had a lot of problems that were slowly worked out over time all while the public played test mule.

Ok thanks. The guy I bought the truck from said the tranny was rebuilt about a year ago and has been parked for six or seven months. Should be plenty good to hold the turbo.

All these years and I finaly understand the tv cable!
