gotta buddy that has an international scout pickup that he is slappn a smallblock into and a tb400/205 with 10 bolts the problem he is having is he cant find the adapter for the tb400 to the 205 he said he has looked around plenty of junkyards in the oklahoma area and even went online and they tell him they dont make one. where is his best bet to find one at? i dont remember seeing many trucks factory with the 400/205 setup so any help would be great

I believe there are two different Th400/np205 adapters. One is for the 6bolt np250 which I have in my truck. and there is another for the figure 8 Np205. They are both pricy and hard to find. Ebay is your friend.

There's a guy on ebay who regularly is selling rebuilt transfer cases, etc. He frequently has the adapters. Seems to me they were $75.00 -100.00. I usually find him by searching for "NP205" in the ebay search.

i need 1 also, been looking for 3 yrs, need to check on this, 'cause can't find 1 locally, was told its a 1 ton exclusive part, and 1 ton transfer case has different hole in case w/32 spline where as 1/2 and 3/4 ton 205 is 27 spline so can't just swap shafts,.. but i think a 27 to 32 spline adapter is available to put a 27 spline 205 behind 32 spline 400, if you can find an adaptor, am i correct some1 here knows

I've got a figure 8 400/205 adapter. Has a small chip off one bolt hole. Won't affect it any. PM if interested. Also have the late circle 6 one avaliable too.

The larger hole you speak of is the input shaft bearing hole. You can take any chevy case to a machinist & have it bored out. Then all you need is the bearing & correct 32 spline input.

Round pattern adapters are short & use a long 32 spline input.

Figure 8 adapters are tall & use the short 32 spline input.

Shafts/bearings & adapters are available from ORD.

Sorry, I don't know what a scout uses.
