Has anyone ever swapped or known someone to swap in one of these engines into a k5? any information on a ls2 swap would be great more specifically this exact one would be better. I have been able to find people who have done it to the s10 blazers but not the full size. Thank you in advance for any help.

What information were you looking for? I am getting ready to do an lm7 swap (same dimensions, just an iron block) dirty dingo mounts seem to be the best bet, and there is tons of info on wiring at least for the lm7 at lt1swap.com. Good luck in your swap, also you may get a better response in the Engine Bay forum.

thanks all. Mainly trying to avoid all of the small road bumps and the "easily overlooked things" that way i just get it all at once and dont have to stop and do a parts run every 15 minutes. I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!

I havent done a write up on mine yet but I have an LS2 in my 88 K5. My motor came out of an 07 vette so I had oil pan clearance issues using the BB engine cross member from ORD. Just had to notch a small portion of the center of the crossmember. I used the dirty dingo mounts. Corvette filter/regulator. Corvette manifolds will clear the frame, had to do real minor clearancing on passenger side though. Current Performance and PSI Conversions have wiring harnesses at a pretty good price. I also have a stock harness that was modified for the conversion that Ill let go pretty cheap . There is quite a bit of info on here now about doing the swaps in our trucks. Quite a few members on here have done them and have lots of info and great write ups on everything they encountered. The LS2 swap wont be much different from any other LSx swap seen on here. Hope that helps a little bit.

And on a second note, that is a good chunk of change for those setups. If you have the money to spend then go for it if thats what you want. But you can also find a used LSx and rebuild it, mod it, or use money saved to put somewhere else in your project. These are good motors even with high mileage, and are easy to make a lot of power with.

I'm looking for quick and easy and less headaches. Time is a big factor in my schedule. I'll keep looking around and see if i can find a vette to cannibalize myself. Space is also an issue living on a military base and everything not much room around the house. thanks for in the info fitment and wiring were my two biggest concerns but isnt that pretty much what a swap is all about? :D

I put an 07 5.3 in mine. What question do you have. You can check it out in my build.
