Ok I recently found a trailer hitch wiring plug grounding out on my frame. The rear/brake light fuse was popping so I fixed that, the turn signal fuse was popping as well both were fixed when I fixed the short. Now my turn signal flasher started acting erratic and heating up to the point where it burned my hand and was smoking when i removed it. Any ideas about the flasher?

Agreed, I found on mine there is a ground on each pig tail that holds the brake/tail light bulb, turn signal bulb and reverse bulb. Mine was acting crazy and blowing fuses. I replaced both ground wires coming off the pig tail and re grounded them to the frame. Everything is gravy now.

My hazards are acting weird too, flashing at irregular intervals. I just replaced the flasher "can" with another at autozone. The search continues...

Well I pushed on the brakes and 2 of my fuses melted in the fuse box. They did not pop they simply melted. I checked the lights and they all work. The steering column started getting warm, now the brake lights do not work when i apply the brakes.

You have a short or shorts going on. If your lucky you kind find it, but it may be time for a new harness.

Your column loose? Sometimes the wiring in the column gets pinched or comes loose, if the column was getting warm, that's the only way I can see that as an issue. Since the flasher switch is on the column...
