Im in the home stretch on my C10.
LS swap, vintage air etc... Its been on the garage for like a year and Im getting close.

I have an issue with the right front turn signal.
The dash indicator stays on when the headlights are on and the right front turn signal is dim.
When the headlights are off it isnt dim but still doesnt alternate with the marker light like it should.
It looks like its only lighting one element in the bulb no matter what.
Both the rear and left front are working perfectly.

Ive changed every bulb
I pulled off every ground and cleaned to bare metal and sanded the connections etc...
I added a new ground directly to the core support. New ground to the firewall, I even cleaned and regrounded behind the dash for the cluster.
No change.
I cleaned the rear grounds and changed those bulbs as well.

Not sure what to check next at this point. I would think if the actual switch on the column was bad it wouldnt affect just the right front ?

Just trying to finish up any work under the dash before I install the Air vent ducts and button up the interior...
Its really pissing me off now...lol

Ive had similiar issues in the past on different trucks but fixing up all the grounds has always fixed it ... Ugh..... LOL

I spent 3 hrs yesterday screwing with it and no change.

Its an 85 C10 2wd shorty if that makes any difference compared to different years or models.

Have you looked inside the socket for the front blinker bulb holder? The ground strap inside that touches the bulb tends to break off of those things.

Dammit...
It wasnt broken off but it was slightly bent and not making contact with the outside brass on the bulb.
I used my Fluke to test that it had a good ground in the socket, the terminal checked out as good ( basically no resistance to the core support ground) but I didnt catch that it wasnt making good contact with the actual bulb...

It appears after 3 hours of wasted time and added ground straps, I am now fixed...LOL

You did 3 hours of preventative maintenance on your driving/turn signal lamps :waytogo:
I did that maintenance... dangit, im afraid of those sockets now. when i found out what was wrong i started looking in all of them- a bunch were broken.

now every time i use the blinkers I think "please work" to myself...
