Weird (to me) problem with my K5. Almost finished with it enough to get it's new VIN. I typically start it up and run it once a week or so, to keep it charged up. Just recently, I noticed that the left front marker and left front blinker (in the grille) do not work sometimes. ALL other blinkers do. I believe they work if the hazards are on. What seems to fix it is flipping turn signal stalk to the right turn position, then back to left. Not always, but a few times and it works again. The turn signal indicators in the dash warning that a bulb has gone out do NOT indicate this problem when it is happening.
With a bad ground, I would think the dash lights would show a problem with that side of the truck. With a bad turn signal switch, I would think it would be the whole side that did not work. I "jiggled" (hope I'm not getting too technical hehe) the firewall connector, and it made no difference...I've had it apart and cleaned up/regreased the contacts there also. I'm concerned because its intermittent, and gives no warning that it is occurring, which could of course lead to a nice ticket. I know how fun intermittent electrical problems are to solve, but I'm hoping someone here has either had the problem and fixed it, or has intimate knowledge of the electrical system, and can say "no, your theory about X NOT being the problem is incorrect" so I know where to start looking for the problem. Thanks!
