I looked at your profile to see what year, make, and model of vehicle you drove, but it wasn't much help.

tear apart your steering column to find out the problem. Probably broke the plastic where the lever attaches. They sell replacements in the "HELP!" sections of most stores, or at a junkyard, or www.chevyduty.com has them for $
you will need 2 "special" tools: a wheel puller and a lock plate puller, should be able to get both at any autoparts store for like 10-15 ea
