I have a 4" body lift I got for free. I'd like to turn em on the lathe down to 1". Is a 1" body lift actually 1" dimensionally?

body pucks are dirt cheep by them selfs on ebay .
but if so wanting to cut down . . . . measure the inside on both sides to check thickness of the solid middle section . then turn each half down the same . should be fine that way .

If you're gonna spend the time at least turn them into something you can just buy, like a 1.5in body lift lol.
That quarter inch is the difference between winning and losing.
If it were me I would chop them in half and then make two sets of 1.5 inch pucks.
Sell the second set, make money.

I would highly recommend 1-3/8". If you're going to go oddball go all the way.

the black poly plastic lift pucks are cast with a twist in them and a solid center section . think of it as a honey comb stacked on another and off set . . if you turn them down and make 2 there is no side load support for crushing resistance .
I did a 1.5 if I recall on STUBBY crew to clear the 2" up 203/205 doubler on a 4l80 for no floor mods. had my pucks made from 6061 aluminum.
