Folks, I make no claims as to the accuracy of this. I didn't write it, or know who did.

But, it makes perfect sense, explains why adjusting the TV cable is so important, and brings up a possible problem I have not seen discussed anywhere here.
May have been, and I just missed it.

I actually like the "click" method of adjusting better than his, but each should work.

The reason I posted this, was the geometry problem. I have seen postings where people have added spacers and had linkage problems plus transmission swaps and having to add a TV cable.

It looks like its not just the position adjustment that is critical, but the amount of movement of the cable per throttle movement that can be a transmission killer as well.

Sounds like someone needs to buy a pressure gauge, check his pressures, and then pass it around the brotherhood.
If everybody with one of those trannys chipped in a buck, you could not only buy a darn good gauge, you could probably throw a bar-b-que......

Just a thought...........

I'm putting a permanent pressure gauge in my cluster when the new 700 goes in... I've never seen it done, usually it's a temp diagnostic tool..

no tv on that one, as I'm going manual vb, full line pressure......

most write ups i found are absolutely horrid to read and understand. It's a VERY simple process. on my 90 burb, that "d" button is damned near impossible to press, the only thing that works for me is a seal puller wedged in between the bracket and the fuel line..
