So i just had a 700R4 rebuilt and they suggested the replacement of the TV cable as mine is fairly chewed up near the adjuster. They tried both the Gasoline version and the Diesel version and both are 1 inch too short. When installed it pulls the adjuster completely out of the detent. What the heck they said that it was beyond what they could find that would fit. It is a 90 Blazer with 5.7 TBI and 700R4 K-Case setup. the stock cable is the correct length but the replacements are wrong. These are from the local Transmission place here
A & Reds and they know their stuff.

Obviously you have measured the cable if you know that the replacements are 1" short. I would try a cable from the last year model Z71 with the 4L60 aka 700r4 (NOT E) and see if it fits better. I am running that cable on my built 700 and it works fine. Im not totally sure of the year though. I do know its the Z71 with the non 4L60E tranny. The Z cable was the same exact length as the stock unit which i thought was odd.

I know this doesnt help you really but i figured id throw it out there.

My local GM dealer has the new cables locally for $32 so you may want to go with the dealer on this one?

Having the same issue,, yeah this is an old thread but stuck in the same situation.. did you ever find a cable that works!?

I used a replacement cable for mid 90's Caprice. And a tci tv/throttle cable bracket for my q jet. With a sonex tv cable spring.
Nothing on my setup is original, I had to play around with it. Have close to 20k on it set up like this

This is all stock and for some reason I cannot find a factory style for a 90. I tried one from an 86 and it was too short assuming because it was a carb year vs tbi.

I was just looking back to see what I'm running with my 700 and TPI setup, but I don't see any notes. It seems unlikely the stock one would reach that much further forward, but you could try looking up the length of a TPI Camaro TV cable.

Wait, I think you're not talking about the overall cable length, but rather just the end of the cable. I thought somebody made an extender for that, like a male/female version of the throttle stud, but I can't find it now. Another option would be to swap or modify the bracket to move the cable mounting point forward. You could also look at the universal cables - they may allow a different reach.

I looked yesterday as well I couldn't even find the one I used 2019.
