I have a question I hope someone can answer.I have searched quite a bit, but no luck so far.

I have a 1991 K5. I swapped out the original 350 TBI engine with a built 454 with a Holley Truck Avenger carb. I have installed the required TV brackets specific to this carb. I also have a rebuilt and upgraded 700R4 tranny.

After much study, I have learned of the importance getting the TV cable setting just right, or I will trash the tranny. I know not drive the K5 until I have it right.

I have the original TV cable installed (the one that came with the 350 TBI). It has seen better years and is no longer adjustable (The "D" shapped button seems frozen).

So, ok, its time to replace the cable. The big question is, can I use the the same TV cable designated for the 350 TBI (new one of course) or do I need a different one for the carb ?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Try to free it up first like British suggested. Then you can tell if you have enough adjustment using the TV cable made for a TBI. The dimension from face of TV bracket to the stud on the throttle lever. Could be a length problem, maybe not you will just have to try. I had the Holley bracket and corrector on mine and it worked great. My Jimmy is an old 6.2 i converted and that cable was way to short. So i had to get a TV cable for a carbed gasser.
Good luck.........Roger
