Got this new to me twin stick 205 and I'm having no luck in getting the front output shifter shaft to move. Does the rear need to be in a particular spot to get the front to move? How about the trans does it need to be turning? reverse? At this point I probably need to ask about shifter locations for driving with this new TC

Off Road Design has a good picture of how it works

but the passenger side shifter in your case works the front output, drivers side works the rear.

shifter forward should be low gear, back should be high, middle neutral, never put one in high other in low blows up t-case if you do. If it was done right you shouldn't be able to physically do it either.

Did you modify "grind" your shift rails?

No, but when you say shift rail are you talking about the rods that slide in/out of the tc? ORD does not have a picture of just the twin sticked 205 on their site. I did however print the shift pattern. I just can't get the front shaft to slide.I think it's in low range(Pulled all the way out/forward)which is how it would be if the shifter was hooked up and pulled back.I think

The shift rails have to be modified to get twin stick functionality, the rails are the round metal rods sticking out of the front of the t-case.

As far as shifting it, you can't be in hi-front/low-rear or low-front/hi-rear. You can be in neutral-front/hi-rear, hi-front/hi-rear, hi-front/neutral-rear etc.

You should always be able to move each shifter one notch, no more and no less.
