Well this may be a stupid question, but are the 205 and 203 rear driveshafts the same? I think 38.5 boggers are to much for my puny half ton drivetrain:rolleyes: . Well any ways for the time being I need a 205 rear shaft, even though it is very cool doing gnarly front burnies in front wheel drive. My buddy has a buddy, etc, who has a 203 drive shaft and before I go to "bum-f@@k to get it I know the boys here will know if they are interchangeable? Or I guess does anyone around have one the would like to get rid of. Thanks

In theory, manual tranny equipped trucks with the 205 t-case came with 1350 u-joints. Mine is an original 465/205 and had 1310 u-joints in the rear. AFAIK, all 203's had 1310 u-joints. Length will be an issue as well as the 203 is longer than the 205.

I guess I should have mentioned 465/205 12 bolt 79 blazer. 203 is a longer unit uh? did not even think of that. i know they look the same @first glance

Shafts dont last too long after you dent them on rocks. :doah:

The shafts are different lengths. A 205 will have a shorter front and longer rear shaft than a 203.
