first i have a 76 blazer 350 th350 203 w/ mile marker gear part time kit

1. transfer case will not shift into 4hi at all and when its in 4lo front wheels are not turning. any ideas?

2. when i accelerate or am under a load there is a popping coming from the carb?!?!?

thank you for the help:bow:

The popping from the carb might be a flat cam lobe. That happened to my Chevelle. An exhaust lobe flattened the the pressure was blowing by the intake valve.

Not sure on the case. Might be the chain or maybe the shifter linkages need adjusted. Do a search for 203 shifter linkage adjustment and you should be able to find a diagram showing the correct way to adjust.

so i did some testing last night and found out that #3 cylinder only has 50lbs of compression and the linkage was missing for the lock fork:confused:

thanks for the help

You could have a broken rocker arm. If it runs then listen to each valve cover (stethoscope or screwdriver to your ear) to determine which side the noise is coming from and pull that cover.
