Heres the deal,
I have a 2WD steering gear box mounted witha 4 inch drop pitman arm installed on it. The Pitman arm is drilled out to .750 for use with a hiem joint and a 3/4 bolt which are all ready installed also.
With my 56 inch springs installed, I seriously have 2 1/2 inches of uptravel available before the springs and bolt/nut make contact.:doah:
The plan is to go back to a stock Pit man arm and drill it out for use, thus giving me the needed clearance for uptravel.

Now I need someone to give me an honest to God measurement between the topside of a stock pitman arm and the bottom side of the frame to see what I can get away with as far as mounting the hiem joint top or bottom of the pitman arm. Does that make any sense?

I don't think a stock 2wd one will work

It's too short

I'm using a 98 grand cherokee pitman arm

Heres a pic of it being mocked up

Does that fit on the 2 WD shaft? If it does I'll get one just like it and mount the hiem under it similar to you TRE.

Thanks.

Yep my truck was originally 2wd, I just took the stock one of and put it on.

The clocking for it isn't dead on though.

That Genright pitman just scares me...and it's too short, it's also $200... :eek1:

ORD supplies a Superlift pitman, not sure what the application originally was but it works perfectly for our trucks. They sell it as part of their crossover kit, or separately.

Pitman arm: This is the arm attached to the steering box shaft. This is available from ORD as part of our kit or separately if you like.
Part #: 70203
Price: $70.00

The ord one is a superlift arm and has too much drop for my 52s
I ordered the waggy arm but that doesent clear the frame
a ford van one is supposed to work but I cant find one
The GC one looks like a good fit, Did you retaper it?

Yeah a race car shop reamed it out for me.

Check this one out 1/2 way down the page is the Chevy Pitman arm with a 12 degree twist built in.

CLICKY

Plus they'll ream it out to .750 for another 15 bones, can't beat that.
