So I am looking at a 16 ft utility trailer, two axles they both look like 3500 lb axles. Only one has brakes.

I am thinking a trailer like this will probably weigh around 1500 lbs (wood deck) I am far off or pretty close.

Guess I need to go weigh Horton and find out if he does in fact weigh around 5k

Trying to decide between this (the cheaper option) and cutting up a gooseneck trailer that will require alot of work and at a minimum replacing the outers on the axles with conventional stuff

Did you buy said trailer yet cuz I have one that I no longer am going to use, cuz I got me a gooseneck 23 foot.

If you're talking 4" channel frame average car hauler trailer, then 1500 lbs should be pretty close.

A good 16 foot utility trailer is going to be over 1500lbs and probably closer to 1700.

I bought a wood deck 16ft trailer last year that is just a lighter duty utility trailer (no 4" channel) with cut siderails. To register it I had to get it weighed and it weighed in at 1500lbs.

1,500 lbs. is reasonable for this size trailer, but also on the lighter side.
