U-Bolt question

Well after having the U-Bolts on my 90 Blazer continuously loosen up I finally bought a set of new ones. I bought the Pro comp U-Bolt kit PN- 58301 which is designed for the 871/2 to 90 Chevy Blazer, Jimmy, and Suburban. The pro comp catalog list that states that the U-bolt length is adequate for stock and aftermarket leaf spring packs. Upon installing them I noticed that they are way to long. My question is can I shorten them by cutting them with a hack saw? I really don't plan on removing them anytime soon.

yes, you can do it that way but something with power behind it is a lot easier. a hacksaw will take you about 3 days to get through all 8. sawzall or cutoff wheel. 10 minutes.

Yes you can cut them but make sure that you use the hardened washers and tall nuts and leave enough U-bolt to protrude above the nuts when tight. Oh, and make sure you tighten them or something bad like this might happen.
