U-bolt question?

Simple question, what type and grade nuts do you use on your leaf spring U bolts? I bought 8, grade #8 nylocks for my fronts with washers and it was like $30.

Is it necesary to run grade 8 nylock nuts on my U bolts? Im asking because I still have to do my rear leaf springs and if I dont have to spend $30 on grade 8 nylocks nuts that would be great..

Shoud I just use grade 5 regular nuts with a lock washer and a flat washer?

Or grade 5 nylock nut with just a flat washer?

Im more of a top lock locking nut guy (plus they are only $.50 each). They are the ones that have the end ovaled to lock. Hold up better if you have to pull them on and off.

never had problems with spring shop bent ubolts and hardened flat washers and std nuts thay give me. always up grade to 5/8 rod if possible it does fit in gm spring plates and hold better.
